By Adnews Staff
Initiative Media of Toronto and U.S.-based Newspaper Services of America Inc. teamed up this week to launch FSA Targeting Inc. Based in Toronto, the new company will specialize in targeted media buys for newspaper advertisers. In a release, FSA says it has a data bank containing information on over 1,000 Canadian daily and community papers. FSA president Jim Patenaude told Adnews the company would be particularly useful for advertisers wishing to get their inserts out to specific forward sortation areas. Forward sortation areas, or FSAs, are made up of the first three characters of the six character Canadian postal code. Patenaude joined FSA after 26 years of retail advertising experience, serving most recently as retail advertising national manager at Sears Canada Inc. Newspaper Services of America is a U.S. newspaper targeting service with a media placement volume of $700 million. Both Initiative Media and Newspaper Services of America Inc. are members of the Interpublic Group of Companies.
