Influence Marketing readies refrigerator promotion
By Derek Winkler
Influence Marketing of Toronto will begin a promotion on June 9 called “Keep it Canadian.” The initiative will feature approximately 50 branded refrigerators placed in high-traffic areas in Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. A promotional worker inside each refrigerator will distribute product samples and coupons from local retailers encouraging consumers to purchase Canadian-made products. The promotion is intended to appeal primarily to food, beverage, alcohol and grocery brands. The effort, which will run through the summer, will also include social media content.
“With all the trade tension of the last few months, we wanted to create a unique street-level sampling program where Canadian brands can separate themselves in the eyes of consumers,” said Will Kozma, vice-president of business development at Influence Marketing.
