PEEL BOARD TO ALLOW CORPORATE SCREEN SAVERS
By Adnews Staff
Ontario's Peel Board of Education has launched a program that will allow advertisers to appear on computer screen savers in the board's classrooms. Each corporate-sponsored screen saver would include a motivational message along with the company's name. The board expects to raise approximately $500,000 a year from the program. Peel is also considering a plan that would allow sponsors to supply the paper used to send messages home to parents. Expected to raise $300,000 to $400,000, the proposal would allow suppliers to include their name on the paper.
