CONSUMERS GAS EXPANDS INTO DE-REGULATED MARKET

ConsumersFirst will introduce its natural gas brokerage services across Canada in May. Advertising for the service began this week and includes TV, radio and print. Genesis Media of Toronto manages the $5 million-plus account and does the media buying. In turn, the agency hired its partner agency, MC Direct of Toronto, to handle creative and direct mail for the business. Genesis DR handles the direct response portion while Planet Genesis is creating a Web site for ConsumersFirst and Advance Planning & Communications of Toronto is doing PR. Genesis got the business in January after a competition with three other agencies. ConsumersFirst is owned by Consumers Gas Energy.
