MACPHEE JESSON TO BUILD CASTLE
By Adnews Staff
Toronto agency MacPhee Jesson Advertising and Public Relations is preparing to help Toronto's Casa Loma castle celebrate its 60th anniversary as a tourist attraction. The Toronto landmark will hold a series of celebratory activities during the summer and fall. The festivities are set to get underway on July 10 with a private evening party, exactly 60 years after the Kiwanis Club of Casa Loma made the site available for public viewing. A Diamond Jubilee Birthday Party open to the public will follow on July 12 and 13. In addition, Casa Loma will launch a variety of promotions. Chief among them is a project with the Toronto Star that will give readers a chance to win a variety of prizes including a private event for 60 people at Casa Loma, a "Summer Garden" weekend, gift baskets and discount coupons for castle tours. MacPhee Jesson captured the Casa Loma PR project in February after a six agency competition. This is the first time Casa Loma, which normally handles its advertising and PR in-house, has gone to an outside agency for promotional help.
