Arthritis Society conducts promotion
By Rob Bale
Charitable organization the Arthritis Society Canada has begun a promotion for its second Arthritis Ideator Awards initiative. Until April 19, consumers can vote online for the initiative’s “People’s Choice” award. The seven finalists in the vote are competing for four $50,000 grants with which to expand their efforts to deal with the disease. Three winners will be selected by a judging panel, while the fourth will be selected by public vote. Votes can be submitted at <http://www.arthritis.ca/peopleschoice>. The winners will be announced at a live event on April 20.
“We must think differently as we work to solve the challenges of arthritis, a debilitating disease that impacts one in five Canadians and has no cure,” said Trish Barbato, president and CEO of the society. “The Arthritis Ideator Awards encourages and rewards bold, fearless thinking and will help get these innovations to the people who need them most as quickly as possible.”
