COREL INTRODUCES JAVA VERSION OF OFFICE SUITE
By Adnews Staff
Corel Corp. of Ottawa made a beta version of its Corel Office for Java available on its Web site this week. The suite, which Corel says is the first written for the Java platform, includes Corel WordPerfect for Java, Corel Quattro Pro for Java, Corel Presentations for Java and CorelCHART for Java. The company plans to launch the software version of the product in June. Because Java-based programs can run on any platform, the new office suite is ideal for any network using computers with different operating systems. Advertising, which is handled in-house by Corel, will begin when the software version is ready for release. Corel develops and markets productivity applications, graphics and Internet software.
