Destination Vancouver, Michelin announce guide

Tourism organization Destination Vancouver, in collaboration with Michelin, are preparing a publication called Michelin Guide Vancouver as part of the Michelin Guide series. The publication is intended to serve as a guide to dining in the city. It will award local restaurants one, two or three stars, as well as Bib Gourmand ratings for less expensive restaurants and green stars for restaurants that practice sustainable gastronomy. Vancouver and Toronto are the only Canadian cities for which Michelin publishes a guide. It will be released in the fall.

“Vancouver has long enjoyed tremendous acclaim for our culinary scene and the Michelin Guide Vancouver further elevates the city's reputation as a global dining destination,” said Royce Chwin, president and CEO of Destination Vancouver. “What is really exciting is that aspiring young chefs who want train under the guidance of a Michelin-starred team now have the opportunity to do that in Vancouver.”
