CHICKEN CHAIN TO START UP IN TORONTO

Koo Koo Roo Canada of Toronto will open its first restaurant in May. Located in Toronto, the outlet will feature skinless, flame-broiled chicken, rotisserie chicken, turkey and a variety of fresh pasta dishes, salads, vegetables and sandwiches. The cooking of all the food is visible to the customers. Koo Koo Roo will open two more Toronto locations this year, and plans to open up to seven restaurants a year across Canada for the next seven years. Projected revenue per restaurant is expected to be in excess of $2 million per year. Advertising for the restaurants will be site specific, focusing on the neighborhoods where they are located. Campaigns will use outdoor, transit ads and local newspapers. They will be created by FCB Canada of Toronto. Koo Koo Roo Canada is 60% owned by a group of Canadian investors and 40% owned by Koo Koo Roo Inc. of California. In the U.S., Koo Koo Roo has 28 restaurants in four states.
