HERTZ PUTS NET SURFERS IN DRIVER'S SEAT

Hertz Corp. of New Jersey has added rate quotation, booking, confirmation and cancellation services to its Web site address. Previously, the site, launched last November, had contained only information on the company's fleet of vehicles, programs, locations, products and services. To make a reservation, customers click on a "rates and reservations" button and then follow a series of prompts. The site also includes a section for travel agents, allowing them to book vehicles for their clients. Hertz operates a fleet of over 500,000 vehicles from more than 5,000 locations in approximately 140 countries. The company's Canadian head office is located in Toronto. Advertising for Hertz Canada is handled by Ogilvy & Mather of Toronto.
