COMPAQ PROMOTES NEW PRESARIO COMPUTERS
By Adnews Staff
Compaq Canada launched a radio and print campaign in the Toronto area this week for its Presario line of computers. The print ad features two side-by-side visuals of male bodies, fully clothed, with their heads superimposed on the upper torsos. The visual on the left shows a man fumbling with the zipper and the expression on his face shows extreme pain. The guy on the right, who is wearing button-fly jeans, is standing calmly and the expression on his face is one of contentment and satisfaction. The headline reads, "Now that we've proven buttons are less painful, let's talk multimedia." The radio ad features a 60-second spot with Adam Arkin as the voice of Compaq. He narrates an on-air button vs. fly demonstration between two men. It also emphasizes that buttons are less painful to use and touts the newest multimedia technology on the latest Presario Pcs. Both the print ad and radio spot reference the company's Web site address. The ads were created by Ammirati & Puris/Lintas of Toronto.
