Xtra launches Community feature

Toronto-based Xtra Magazine has launched a new feature called Xtra Community that allows readers to comment on stories, follow specific topics and contributors and take part in discussions with magazine staff and other readers. The free service makes use of online community management software from Viafoura. Xtra is published by Pink Triangle Press.
“The ability to connect virtually can be a lifeline for LGBTQ2S+ people,” said Rachel Giese, director of editorial at Xtra. “Especially those who are physically or socially isolated, or who can't be out and open in the world. But we also know that social media can often be toxic and hostile towards queer and trans people.”
