FUNDY CABLE TO REFOCUS BUSINESS

Fundy Cable of St. John is getting out of the radio game to focus on its cable business and expand into telecommunications. The company says the radio stations are not part of its long term strategy and it has acknowledged that the statons were losing money. The stations being sold are CFBC-AM and CJYC-FM, both in St. John, as well as CJCB-AM and CKPE-FM, both in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Maritime Broadcast Service of Halifax, which owns over a dozen Maritime radio stations, will buy the stations in Sydney. Newfoundland Capital Corp. will purchase the stations in St. John.
