BREWER RETAINS INTERNET AGENCY

Toronto-based Labatt Breweries of Canada has renewed its contract with CYBERplex interactive media, also of Toronto, to act as the brewer's exclusive Internet agency of record. CYBERplex has had the Labatt account since July, 1995. Steve Taylor, a strategic planner at CYBERplex, told Adnews Labatt has big plans for its Web site this year, but added that he couldn't be specific. However he did say the company is adding a game called Invasion of the Stubbies to its site. Taylor likened the game to Space Invaders, with the invaders taking the form of stubby bottles and the firing base appearing as a case of Labatt's Blue beer firing bottle caps.
