ImagineAR signs deal with Footsteps to Freedom

Vancouver-based augmented reality company ImagineAR has signed a three-year agreement with US-based educational organizations Footsteps to Freedom and the Black Voice Foundation. Through this agreement, the company will develop subscription-based augmented reality presentations featuring artifacts and stories of the Underground Railroad. The subscription service is intended to be a resource encompassing historical primary sources, papers, books and artifacts dating back approximately 200 years. ImagineAR will also be a national sponsor of the program.

“ImagineAR is an advanced digital immersive communication platform which will deliver the impact of our work in historical empathy with next generation mobile experiences,” said Hardy Brown, managing principal of Footsteps to Freedom and chairman of the Black Voice Foundation. “We are expecting to introduce this AR program to over 50 school districts and over one million students in southern California. We are excited to integrate AR into our exhibits and Underground Railroad tours.”
