CAMPAIGN TOUTS FAILING AS LEARNING TOOL

Earlier this month, Promanad Communications Inc. of Toronto kicked off a national campaign for Junior Achievement that claims the greatest learning comes from trying and failing. Junior Achievement is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to providing business and economic education for youth. Promanad's pro bono campaign is called "Start Now" and is running on TV, print, posters and the Internet. The campaign has two goals: to draw more volunteers to Junior Achievement and to get more youths involved in the program. The first ad features the story of the development of the Fox 40 whistle. A headline states,"The Fox 40 whistle has never failed. That's more than we can say for the entrepreneur who created it." The ad then recounts the story of the Fox 40's development by referee Steve Foxcroft and how he tried 35 prototype whistles before inventing the successful Fox 40. The campaign is slated to run until mid-April, but could go longer depending on public service announcement opportunities.
