TGS Esports to acquire Pepper Esports

Vancouver-based competitive video game company TGS Esports has filed a letter of intent to acquire Pepper Esports, a firm based in Burnaby BC. TGS specializes in video game competition event management, while Pepper develops software that supports such events. The Pepper executive staff, comprising Guy Halford-Thompson, Jackson Warren and Ben Hoffman, is expected to join TGS when the deal closes.
“Rather than sending our players to third party platforms for online events, and missing out on key revenue, we will now be able to keep players within our ecosystem while also generating revenue directly from the Pepper platform,” said Spiro Khouri, CEO of TGS. “This acquisition brings an important technology platform to TGS, making our business model scalable, global, and with defensible IP.”
