Seneca College readies e-sports marketing program

The Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto has launched a new graduate certificate program in e-sports marketing management. The program is aimed at students seeking to pursue a marketing career in the field of competitive video gaming. It will begin in September in an online format due to COVID-19 restrictions. The curriculum will include digital and social media marketing, sponsorship strategy, athlete and influencer marketing, branding, experiential marketing, audience analytics and other subjects. The school will conduct a promotional online presentation for prospective students on July 23.

“The Esports Marketing Management program at Seneca is unique in that the curriculum focuses on the industry’s niche demand for marketing professionals in sponsorship and branding,” said Chris McCracken, chair of the school of marketing at Seneca. “We’re the only postsecondary institution that prepares learners for this specialization.”
