AUSTRALIA BANS LEMON-SCENTED ADS

Bacardi-Martini Asia Pacific found itself in hot water recently in Australia because of its lemon-scented bus shelters. The company has launched a campaign using bus shelters which emit a lemon smell in the presence of people. The posters promote the company's Bacardi Lemon-flavored rum. The Victorian and South Australian governments have banned the ads running on the State-run transport system over concerns the ads could affect children and people with drinking problems. Bacardi says it will place the ads in other less contentious places.
