Pollard Banknote to buy Mkodo

Winnipeg-based printing company Pollard Banknote has signed an agreement to acquire Mkodo of London, UK. The company specializes in the development of mobile applications and digital interfaces for the lottery and gaming industries. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2020, subject to regulatory approval. According to the company, Mkodo's client list includes a number of Canadian lotteries. The purchase price is approximately $13.4 million.

“The addition of the Mkodo team to our organization is an important step in expanding our technological expertise and in particular complements our existing internal Pollard resources very well,” said John Pollard, co-chief executive officer of Pollard Banknote. “Our industry leading digital solutions, including lottery, the second chance platform and loyalty programs, all rely on exceptional user interface experiences and the addition of Mkodo's world-class mobile expertise will allow Pollard to greatly enhance our customers' digital connection with their end users.”
