Community Food Centres begins Big Social campaign

Toronto-based non-profit organization Community Food Centres Canada has begun a campaign called “The Big Social.” The initiative encourages consumers to host meals in their homes or workplaces to raise funds for the organization’s efforts to improve access to food to low-income Canadians. The campaign is being conducted primarily through a website at <http://www.bigsocial.ca>. President’s Choice has signed-on as the presenting sponsor of the effort. Additional sponsors include Food Network Canada, Global News, Neal Brothers Foods, Precision Nutrition, Toronto Life, The Printing House and Steam Whistle Brewery.

“We believe that food is an incredible tool for bringing people together,” said Nick Saul, president and CEO of Community Food Centres Canada. “That's what our programs do every day. Now we're asking Canadians to join us by gathering around their own tables to enjoy food together and raise money so more people can benefit from these programs.”
