Ontario Home Care Association begins campaign

The Toronto-based Ontario Home Care Association has begun an marketing campaign promoting home-based health care as a way to reduce overcrowding in the province’s hospitals. The campaign uses the tagline, “Bring health care out of the hallway and into the home.” It consists of a website at <http://www.endhallwayhealthcare.ca> which offers information about the organization’s proposals, accompanied by social media content on Facebook and online advertising.

“Hallway health care is a nightmare that more and more Ontario families are having to live through,” said Sue VanderBent, CEO of Home Care Ontario. "The good news is that we have a government committed to ending the crisis and we believe more home care is a key part of the solution. People want and need more home care and it is time we embrace professional home care services to get people out of the hallway and back into their homes.”
