Mobile developer OpenTable has debuted a redesign of its restaurant reservation application. The app is aimed a consumers seeking last-minute diner reservations at nearby restaurants. It also provides recommendations from food experts, personalized updates regarding new restaurants and maps. The new design features two tabs labeled "Book" and Discover" intended to improve the ease-of-use of the system. OpenTable is a unit of Booking Holdings.

"Today, everyone wants everything on-demand, and deciding where to dine out is no exception," said Prasad Gune, senior product vice-president at OpenTable. "We reviewed data from diner reservations and saw a dramatic rise in people looking to dine immediately. Based on this insight, we have redesigned our app experience to cater to this trend and make it fast and intuitive to discover and book the best restaurants for every dining occasion."
