PLAYSTATION SALES TO HIT THREE MILLION

Sony Computer Entertainment Corp. has sold over two million of its PlayStation game console units in North America, and plans to sell another million before the end of the year. The 32-bit video game system has been on the North American market since the fall of 1995. North American dollar sales for PlayStation hardware and software have passed the $1 billion mark. In Canada, Vancouver-based Nintendo of Canada has shipped 130,000 units of its Nintendo 64 video game system to retailers this month, which is barely half the current demand. Over 100,000 systems have been sold since the system launched last September. Japan-based Sega Enterprises says sales of its Sega Saturn 32-bit video game system have increased 500% in the U.S. since it launched a North American promotion in November. Under the deal, customers who buy the 32-bit system receive three free games. Figures for Canada weren't available
