COCA-COLA SURGES INTO NEW MARKET

Coca-Cola Ltd. of Atlanta is going head-to-head with PepsicoÕs Mountain Dew soft drink. The company will introduce a new high caffeine citrus soda in the U.S. next month called Surge. The company is going to see how the product does in the U.S. before deciding on whether to bring it to Canada. Surge will be targeted to teenagers and young adults. Coca-Cola plans to spend $50 million(US) on promoting the product. Mountain Dew has sales of $3 billion(US) and virtually no competition
