Pizza Pizza conducts Crack the Cardboard contest

Toronto-based fast food chain Pizza Pizza has begun a contest promotion called "Crack the Cardboard" to coincide with its 50th anniversary. During the contest, consumers who purchase a large pizza will receive it in a box incorporating a tear-away strip of cardboard. Removing the strip will reveal whether or not the consumer has won. Prizes will include five 2017 Hyundai Elantra LE sedans, 50 trips for two to Cuba from Red Tag, fifty Samsung television sets and fifty prizes of $1,000 in cash, as well as Pizza Pizza food prizes. The contest will run until Nov. 19, supported by social media activities.
"Our 50th birthday is a time to celebrate and look back on what brought us to where we are today," said Pat Finelli, chief marketing officer at Pizza Pizza. "The 'Crack the Cardboard' contest is an exciting way to thank our customers by throwing back to a nostalgic promotion with a modern twist."
