Cineplex begins Beyond 150 contest

Toronto-based cinema chain Cineplex has begun a contest promotion tied to the 150th anniversary of Canada. Called "Beyond 150," the national contest invites consumers between the ages of 14 and 19 to submit short videos depicts what their contributions would be to the Canadian film industry. The winner will receive 25,000 Scene loyalty points as well as a screening party for their video for family and friends. In addition, the winning video will be shown as part the the pre-show program at Cineplex's 164 locations nationally.
"Every year we support over 20 local and international film festivals and contribute millions of dollars to support the film industry in Canada through partnerships with great organizations like the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, the Canadian Film Centre, the Toronto International Film Festival and Canada's Walk of Fame," said Ellis Jacob, president and CEO of Cineplex. "The 'Beyond 150' contest shines a spotlight on our home-grown Canadian talent, and as a Canadian company and a proud supporter of the arts, there has never been a better time to do just that."
