Canadian Marketing Association debuts chartered marketer designation

The Toronto-based Canadian Marketing Association has introduced a new designation for the marketing profession known as the chartered marketer. According to the organization, the designation is intended to recognize the change in marketing to a data-driven profession. The association asserts that the designation program will emphasize quality assurance, compliance with regulatory requirements and adherence to high professional standards.

"We increasingly recognize that marketing serves a critical function for business growth, yet marketing professionals are often challenged to validate their skills and to prove marketing's value," said Chris Stamper, chair of the CMA's board of directors. "Our goal with this designation is to shift the way in which companies view marketing in Canada by providing independent appraisal, establishing a consistent standard of quality and recognizing the profession's top talent."
