Stubborn Farmer begins online campaign

Food delivery service Stubborn Farmer, based in Beaverton, ON, has begun a new advertising campaign done in the style of social media recipe videos. Developed by Rain43 of Toronto, the campaign consists of three videos called "Cows," "Chickens" and "Pigs." Each one depicts an empty bowl being filled with leafy ingredients to form a salad, which is then used as animal feed. The creative focuses on the use of pesticide-free and organic ingredients in this feed, ending with a tagline such as, "Our cows eat healthy so you can eat healthy." The videos will run as Facebook and Instagram posts aimed at health-conscious customers in the Greater Toronto Area.

"At the Stubborn Farmer, the animals are raised and treated ethically, and are fed real food that is almost always grown by the farmer himself, or in the case of the cows, the pasture that they graze on," said Jane Murray, executive creative director at Rain43. "Because of this, we could film the animals just being themselves on the farm. No sets, no cleaning up for the camera, no hiding anything. By showing how well the animals eat, we let potential customers know that ultimately, they will eat well too."
