PILLSBURY SELLS TWO BUSINESSES
By Adnews Staff
U.S.-based Pillsbury Company has sold its Van de Kamp's frozen-seafood division and a frozen desserts business to a private investment group organized by the Dartford Partnership of San Francisco. Pillsbury got the businesses earlier this year when its parent, Grand Metropolitan PLC, bought Pet Inc. for $2.6 billion(US). Van de Kamp's produces breaded and battered fish sticks, frozen fish fillets and breaded shrimp. The frozen desserts business makes Oronoque pie shells and Pet-Ritz cream pies and cobblers. Advertising for Pillsbury in Canada is done by Toronto-based Leo Burnett Company.
