DDB expands Ignite program nationally

DDB Canada has expanded its DDB Ignite program nationally. The initiative, which began as a pilot project in Vancouver, is aimed primarily at businesses in their start-up phase. The Ignite program uses the resources of DDB, Tribal Worldwide Canada and Karacters Design Group to develop brand identities and communications strategies for such companies. Participating companies will receive these services in exchange for deferred fees, equity and exposure to their ideas. Ignite will now be offered at the DDB offices in Vancouver, Edmonton, Montreal and Toronto.

"DDB Ignite empowers each office to meaningfully engage with the local entrepreneurial community and foster mutually beneficial partnerships that drive innovation through shared learning," said Lance Saunders, national president and chief operating officer at DDB Canada.  "It allows the agency the opportunity to build new brands and communication strategies for innovative companies, while exposing our talent and clients to progressive ways of thinking. We've been building our program behind the scenes for the past three years with advisors from the business community, academia and the start-up world. First it was a way to give back to next gen companies, like a strategic pro bono, but has since evolved into a full suite of programs to empower companies to flourish and prosper."
