Bombay Sapphire begins visual arts competition

Gin brand Bombay Sapphire has begun a promotion called the "Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series." It takes the form of a visual arts competition for Canadian artists. The initiative involves the participation of painter Kim Dorland and the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation. Entrants can submit original work online at <http://www.bombayartisan.com> until August 17. The grand prize winner will receive a cash award to create a body of work for a solo exhibit in Miami in 2017, as well as the creation of a public installation in 2017. Secondary winners will also receive monetary prizes to develop solo exhibits in their regions.

"For the past six years, the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series has helped launch and strengthen the careers of many visual artists in the United States," said Brendan McDonough, senior brand manager for Bombay Sapphire. "In Canada, we have many creative and talented artists who would benefit from the exposure and opportunity Artisan offers. It's time for our artists to join the competition."
