Mogo readies condom promotion
Mogo Finance Technology of Vancouver will begin a promotion from Dec. 21 to 24 during which they will distribute condoms to consumers. According to the company, which operates an online lending service, the initiative is intended to promote Mogo as an alternative to banks. The company will give away 60,000 condoms in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver, distributed by promotional workers dresses as elves. The condoms display the copy, "Don't Get Screwed."
"Tis the season when we like to get a little loose and have fun, but when it comes to holiday spending don’t get screwed by the aftershock of credit card debt," said Chantel Chapman, spokesperson for Mogo. "Instead, be more mindful with your overspending and consider a debt exit strategy to pay off your high interest rate credit cards like Mogo's personal loan MogoLiquid. Mogo helps you play it smart and safe with your finances and under the mistletoe, so we figured that condoms were the perfect reminder of that."
