Canadian Nurses Association conducts digital campaign

The Ottawa-based Canadian Nurses Association has begun a digital campaign called "Health Is Where the Home Is." The initiative is intended to raise awareness of the need for additional senior home care services as the Canadian population ages. Timed to coincide with the start of federal election campaigns, the campaign features a website at <http://cna-aiic.ca/election2015website>. The site offers information on the subject and a number of interactive features. Visitors are encouraged to contribute suggestions about how the federal government could improve home-based health care for seniors. It also provides contact information for candidates in various electoral ridings. The site is being promoted with social media activities and community events.

"CNA and Canadians are using the platform provided by the federal election campaign to share solutions with our federal leaders on how they can implement meaningful improvements for seniors health," said association president Karima Velji. "Our recommendations are grounded in the evidence and best practices that guide registered nurses and nurse practitioners. But we're also turning up the volume on Canadians' voices to demonstrate that aging affects us all."
