Cineplex resumes Casting Call contest

Toronto-based theatre chain Cineplex Entertainment has begun a contest promotion called "Casting Call." This is the second year the company has conducted this promotion, which invites consumers to submit a video audition via YouTube for a chance to become the co-host of the Cineplex Pre-Show for a year. The winner will also receive free movie attendance for a year. The contest will run at <http://www.cineplex.com/castingcall> until June 25. The company will choose 10 semi-finalists from these entries. Public online voting from June 30 to July 20 will determine three finalists. The winner will be selected by a judging panel after a series of challenges. The contest is being supported with ads during the pre-show and social media activities.

"We were incredibly impressed by the quality of submissions received from Canadian movie fans in 2014," said Pat Marshall, vice-president of communications and investor relations at Cineplex Entertainment. "We look forward to seeing how contestants' passion for the movies shine through again in this year's contest."

The Cineplex Pre-Show consists of movie content, branded content, advertising and interactive games, displayed on the screen before a film begins.
