Ontario Plasma Coalition conducts campaign

The Ontario Plasma Coalition has begun a new advertising campaign called "Plasma Saves Lives." The campaign will run in some Ontario markets in an effort to inform voters about the position of the Ontario Liberal Party that compensated plasma donations should be banned. It will consist of billboard, transit shelter and radio advertising, as well as a website at <http://www.plasmasaveslives.ca>.
"The Liberal government had hoped to avoid a public debate on the issue of compensated plasma donations," said John Laforet, a spokesperson for the organization. "The Ontario Plasma Coalition is glad to bring that debate to the people of Ontario via our website and a series of advertisements. We want to educate voters about this important issue. We want to help them understand what candidates may consider voting for, as it relates to ensuring Ontario has access to a stable, self sustaining supply of plasma to manufacture life-saving pharmaceuticals."
The Ontario Plasma Coalition is an initiative of Canadian Plasma Resources, a Toronto-based for-profit plasma donation clinic.
