Cold-FX conducts table hockey tournament

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International of Mississauga has begun a hockey-themed promotion for its Cold-FX cold and flu product. The promotion takes the form of a table hockey tournament that will take place this month in Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto and Halifax. Consumers can register to participate online at <http://www.cold-fx.com>. Each of the four regional winners will receive $500. The company will also use the events to collect donations for local food banks.
"Hockey represents a big part of the Cold-FX 20-year heritage in Canada, and we wanted to celebrate this passion for the sport with our community," said Courtney Stone, assistant brand manager for Cold-FX. "While not all of us are skating superstars, the Cold-FX National Table Hockey Tournament brings the game beyond the ice and provides us with a fun way to thank our fans for their support over the last 20 years."
In a related promotion, consumers who buy specially-marked packages of the product will also receive a free copy of a Cold-FX 20th Anniversary Edition Rock'em Sock'em Hockey DVD.
