New marketing vice-president at SNC-Lavalin

Montreal-based engineering and construction company SNC-Lavalin has appointed Erik Ryan to newly-created position of executive vice-president of marketing, strategy and external relations. Beginning Nov. 1, he will be responsible for the company's strategic planning, corporate marketing, corporate communications, government and aboriginal affairs, and mergers and acquisitions. He will also participate in investor relations. Ryan was most recently senior vice-president of communications and external relations at Rio Tinto Alcan. Prior to joining Rio Tinto Alcan in 2002, he was a consultant at the Monitor Group.
