Girth Music of Toronto has launched a new music website called The Discovery Wheel. The site, located at <http://girthmusic.com/wheel>, is aimed primarily at music supervisors, editors and television producers. It allows users to search a database of 700 Girth Music songs according to how they fit with various emotions. Users can search for songs that match up to three "emotional differentiators," such as energetic, organic, sweet, inspirational, sentimental, moody, quirky, heavy, campy or edgy. The search returns a playlist with 30-second samples. Songs can be shared via social media sites or downloaded on a trial basis. Songs can then be licensed for use in advertisements, films, television shows or video games. "Everyone has their own level of what they'd classify as rock to punk rock to hard rock," said Adam Damelin, a partner at Girth Music. "They connect to these categories based on how they feel when listening. Our search engine allows people to search and experience music with their feelings, which is a brand new way of searching music." Girth Music is a division of EggPlant Collective.
