BOMBARDIER UNVEILS NEW JET

Bombardier Inc. of Montreal unveiled its new Global Express long-range, high-speed business jet. The ceremony was not short on extravagance, featuring a 45-piece orchestra, a 1,000-person choir and the presence of Prime Minister Jean Chretien. The new jet will allow operators to travel non-stop at 850 km/h on routes such as New York-Tokyo and Sydney-Los Angeles in about 14 hours. It can travel at over 930 km/h, the fastest speed in its aircraft class, along such frequented routes as New York to Los Angeles. The jets are not short on luxury either They coming with leather furniture, boardroom tables and high-end computers and fax machines. They will be able to carry about eight passengers. The first of the 52 ordered planes will be delivered in 1998. Trade and magazine advertising for the plane has been promoting the plane over the last four years. A new national trade and print campaign will be launched next week under the banner "This Changes Everything". Groupaction Marketing Inc. of Montreal handles the Bombardier account.
