Tourism Victoria conducts Calgary contest

Tourism Victoria of Victoria, BC is conducting an online contest promotion at <http:// www.tourismvictoria.com/calgary> aimed primarily at residents of Calgary. The contest posits that three ocean animals, called Sol the Seal, Simon the Salmon and Orland the Orca, have vanished from Victoria and are on their way to Calgary. Residents of Calgary who submit a sighting of one of the animals to the website will be entered into a draw for a trip for four to the West Coast. The contest is being supported with social media activities. "We were hot on [Sol's] trail and working at bringing him home," said Trina Mousseau, director of destination marketing at Tourism Victoria. "We are all shocked to find out he has been stolen. Luckily Simon the Salmon and Orland the Orca are still splashing about the streets of Calgary and are safe for the time being."
