KETCHUP AND MUSTARD STILL ALL-TIME FAVORITES

Canadians are still adding old-time favorites to their hamburgers and hot dogs, according to ACNielsen of Markham, Ont. The national sales volume for both ketchup and mustard grew 2% over the past year, but Albertans like the condiments the most. Sales volume for the two products in that province have increased 5% over the past year. Ontario came in a close second with ketchup having a 5% jump in sales volume and mustard having 4%. Maritimers and people in B.C. like their ketchup but don't like mustard. The Maritimes had a 3% sales volume increase in ketchup and a 3% decrease in mustard. B.C. showed a 2% growth rate with ketchup and a 1% drop in sales volumes of mustard. People in Manitoba and Saskatchewan dislike ketchup and love mustard. The two provinces had a decrease of 4% in sales volume for ketchup and an increase of 3% for mustard.
