Corona conducts Million Lime Giveaway

Corona has begun a promotion called the "One Million Lime Giveaway" in support of its Corona Extra brand. During the month of March, one million limes will be distributed by promotional workers to residents of Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary on the streets as well as at consumer shows, sporting events, concerts and at liquor and beer retailers. The workers will also offer lime trivia, recipes and merchandise. Bags of limes will be marked with an identifying number that can be entered online at <http://www.coronagetreal.ca> to win one of ten trips to Mexico. In addition, the workers will invite passers-by to pose for photographs displaying the face they make after eating a lime. "We have cornered the market on limes and are making them available to Canadian beer drinkers desperate for an authentic beer with fresh lime experience," said Lindsay Wilson, marketing manager for Corona Canada. "When it comes to serving beer with lime we are simply reminding Canadians not to cut any corners, just cut limes. For a full month, the limes are on us." The campaign was developed by MatchXM. Corona beer is sold in Canada by Modelo Molson Imports of Toronto.
