BMW promotes Mini Countryman

BMW Group Canada has begun a street promotion in Toronto tied to an ongoing Facebook contest in support of its new Mini Countryman vehicle. The initiative included three cars decorated with ribbons attended by eight promotional workers dressed as elves who invited passers-by to examine the vehicles and enter the online contest. The contest, which will run until Dec. 30, will be won by the entrant who can get the largest number of Facebook friends to "enter" a car. The winner will receive the use of a Mini Countryman for one year. "Bringing our virtual contest live to the streets of Toronto lets us interact with our customers and fans in a hands-on and engaging way," said John Cappella, director of Mini Canada. "That is what Mini is all about, being extroverted and socially energetic. Our Facebook contest is the epitome of that desire to interact. Taking it to the streets is the proof of our energy."
