Health Sciences Association of British Columbia retains DDB

The Vancouver-based Health Sciences Association of British Columbia has hired DDB Canada to develop a campaign intended to raise awareness of the organization and its members. The campaign is also intended to raise government awareness of the value of the services provided by these members. DDB won the assignment in a competitive pitch process involving an unknown number of agencies. Media planning and buying will be handled by OMD Vancouver. "HSABC members play an integral role in modern health care," said Miriam Sobrino, the association's director of communication. "We have an intimate connection with patients, often more so than doctors and nurses, as we perform vital, hands-on procedures such as x-rays, physiotherapy and rehabilitation services. We were impressed by DDB Canada's results-driven creative and social strategies. They made us confident they could draw attention to the essential nature of HSABC members' contribution to health care." The Health Sciences Association of British Columbia represents approximately 16,000 health care and social services professionals in the province.
