Playboy TV readies new campaign

Specialty channel Playboy TV will begin a campaign in Canada and the US next month to promote its original programming. The campaign will consists of television commercials supported by radio, print and online advertising. The two TV executions, called "Eligible Women" and "Date," take the form of parodies of reality television shows. The ads use the tagline, "A Better Reality Awaits." The campaign was developed by Zig of Chicago, with support from the agency's Toronto office. "Mainstream reality TV tries to be sexy but in the end, the best parts are either blurred, bleeped or blocked," said Gary Rosenson, senior vice-president of sales and marketing at Playboy TV.  "This campaign has a little fun at their expense by juxtaposing Playboy TV's sexy and uncensored reality series with the often frustrating experience of most reality TV."
