Transcontinental buys Rastar

Montreal-based Transcontinental has acquired Rastar, a Salt Lake City-based direct marketing company specializing in database marketing and customized printing. The privately-owned company has 350 employees and approximately US$50 million in revenue. Its services include printing, mailing and fulfillment. Rastar CEO Kevin Despain and president Grant Fletcher will continue to lead the company. "Not only is Rastar a proven leader in data-driven direct marketing, customer relationship management development and the delivery of personalized, targeted messaging to key verticals, it's also a leader in web-enabled self-published consumer solutions like custom books and the growing online imaging products business," said Transcontinental president Guy Manuel. "The possibilities for Transcontinental and our clients are exciting." No financial details are available.
