DMG World Media sells home shows

Toronto-based DMG World Media has sold its home show division to Marketplace Events, a subsidiary of Stephens Capital Partners of Little Rock, AR. The division produces the National Home Show, Fall Home Show and Metro Home Show in Toronto. Marketplace Events has signed a three-year deal with television personality Ty Pennington to be the spokesperson for the shows. "We’re very pleased to have a new owner who is focused on investing in the future growth of our home shows," said Toronto show manager Lisa Barnes. "The partnership with Ty Pennington, considered by many to be the most trusted name in home improvement today, is a great example of how we intend to grow our shows into more exciting events than ever before." Pennington will consult on the shows as well as provide content for them. He will also appear in the company's advertising. The company has also launched a new business-to-business division called Marketplace Event Consultants that will provide consulting to exhibitors and sponsors of their own shows as well as to consumer show producers who operate in other markets.
