Consumer electronics company LG Electronics Canada has formed an endorsement deal with professional golfer Stephen Ames. The deal, which will run through 2009, allows LG to use Ames' image in its advertising, public relations and promotional materials. In addition, Ames' caddy will display the LG logo on his hat during 2008 PGA tournaments. LG will also donate $25,000 to the Stephen Ames Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that provides funding for junior golf programs. "As one of Canada’s premier athletes, LG Electronics Canada is ecstatic to be engaging with Stephen in this partnership," said Andrew Barrett, vice-president of marketing at LG. "He exudes superior style and performance out on the course and these are also traits that customers value in the LG brand." In related news, LG Electronics Canada has begun an online contest in which visitors to the company's website at <http://www.lg.ca> can win a trip for two to Indian Wells, California to see the 2008 LG Skins Game.
