Corus Quebec and Cogeco Radio Television form Groupe Force Radio

Corus Québec and Cogeco Radio Television will consolidate their national radio sales staffs into a new organization called Groupe Force Radio on June 4. The new group will represent 30 radio stations in Quebec: five operated by Cogeco, 13 operated by Corus and 12 operated by Radio-Nord, which has signed on as a client. According to the company, these stations reach approximately 3.3 million people per week. The company will be alternately chaired by representatives of Corus and Cogeco. Mario Cecchini, vice president of Montreal operations for Corus Québec, will be board chair for the first year, with René Guimond, president and CEO of Cogeco Radio Television, as vice-chair.
